I’m Johanna Kincaid—retired psychologist, reluctant investigator, and the person trouble keeps finding. The cases in my world are not abstractions. They’re built from the kinds of crimes you recognize from headlines: power, secrecy, greed, and the small devastations that become unspeakable when no one intervenes.
These notes follow the edge where evidence ends and perception begins. The mystic element in this series is not fantasy. It’s a way of noticing—of listening to what’s been ignored, and learning what it costs to look away. It involves ancient wisdom with rules of its own.

These Case Notes aren’t “extras.” They’re the underside of the story: the psychology, the investigation, the choices made in the dark. You’ll find reflections on motive, trust, and what happens when systems protect the wrong people.
A word of caution: I don’t “explain away” the mystical layer. It doesn’t behave like fantasy. It behaves like weather—sometimes quiet, sometimes decisive—and it respects rules. In the books, you will meet characters who reflect ancestral knowledge and what it means to walk with honor, respect and curiosity.
